Brinstar ‘beercade’ is fully operational and ready to play

Brinstar “Beercade” is now fully open – arcade games, meatball subs, draft beers and all.

Brinstar, located at 415 E. Main St. in downtown Midland, opened its doors six days before receiving its liquor license. Starting June 8, the beer procession can operate fully serving alcohol, including mixed drinks like margaritas and 12 kinds of craft beer on tap.

Since signing their lease in 2019, the owners have had to endure financial lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as flooding, which destroyed some of their arcade games. Then came the wait to receive the liquor license for the business.

Brinstar is steeped in the creativity of the owners; their personal touch has been put on vintage arcade games, unique menu items, and even the bar, which is made of disassembled “e-waste”. The bar’s green lights illuminate the circuits of Sony walkmans, VCRs and telephones.

“Honestly, everything looks exactly like my vision,” said co-owner Belle Fawcett. J

a “Beercade” offers a variety of games for people of all ages. Some games are free, while others cost between 25 cents and a dollar
